Description
2 steel chimneys with spoilers placed at its upper third in order to avoid wind vortices, but increasing the drag force coefficient according to local code, invaldating the designs of the Chimneys and their  foundations. The analyzes carried out showed that the coefficient of drag force does not require to be increased by the presence of the spoilers. Besides, the additional damping from soil – foundation interaction allows to control the resonance effects.
